The Community IMPACT Awards are presented by The Stakeholders, Inc. Since 2008, The Stakeholders Inc. has supported its member non-profit organizations, businesses and families in their commitment to increase volunteerism and civic engagement in New York.

The 2017 IMPACT Award Winners

Stakeholders, Inc. has announced the winners of the 2017 Community IMPACT Awards designed to recognize companies who have provided exemplary volunteer services in New York’s Capital Region. The IMPACT Awards will be presented in a Hollywood-style ceremony on November 12, 2017, at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Downtown Schenectady, New York.

Two hundred Capital Region business and community leaders are expected to gather to honor the 2017 honorees, starting at 5:30pm with a lavish networking cocktail party, followed by the Oscar-style award show at 6:30pm (minus the long-winded speeches!) The event will be hosted by Robert Clancy, managing partner of Spiral Design Studio, inspirational speaker and acclaimed author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Soul.

Volunteer of the Year Award
Alan Lobel

This award honors an exemplary volunteer who embodies the community at large.

Outstanding Service Project Award
L. Clifford VanWagner / Franklin Community Center

This award is presented for a short-term community improvement or volunteerism project that has been completed within one year and has achieved significant, measurable results.

Sustainable Communities Award
The Rosenblum Companies

Recognizes an individual, business or group project for demonstrating leadership or innovation in programs or principles that advance sustainability and environmental stewardship in our community.

Young Philanthropist Award
Kelsey Carr

Recognizes a next generation philanthropist (under 45) who has had significant Impact on a nonprofit organization or a community project through their personal philanthropy efforts.

Community Mentorship Award
Thomas Rice

Recognizes an individual committed to service and philanthropy who, by example and mentorship, cultivates a spirit of service and philanthropy for the next generation.

Community Partnership Award
Albany County and Excelsior College

This award is presented to community programs or governmental projects that have collaborated with businesses to achieve significant, measurable community improvement results.

Everyday Hero Award
Mathew B. Tully, Esq.

Recognizes a first responder, disaster service volunteer or veteran who has had a significant impact in their community.

Business-to-Nonprofit Partnership Award
Hewitt’s Garden Center / Capital Roots

This award is presented to programs or projects that have collaborated with a nonprofit organization to achieve significant measurable community improvement results.

Skills-Based Volunteerism Award
Alana McNulty and Katrina Colby

This award recognizes a skills-based volunteer project that has been completed within one year and has achieved significant, measurable results.

Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award
Informz

This award honors exemplary corporate employee volunteer programs that effectively integrate volunteerism into the company’s business culture.

Business-to-Nonprofit Partnership Award
